Gateway 3DS Nutzer FAQS

 

1. How to use Gateway 3DS on 3DS V5.0 to V.9.2 and How to activate Emunand?(For now, New 3DS/NEW 3DS LL is not included) 

• a)Download Gateway 3ds Ultra V3.03 to your computer. Unzip the file, copy and paste the Launcher.dat to the root of your micro sd card. (Because the SD Card comes with 3DS is not enough in size, you would better use other Micro SD card with capacity larger than 8GB.）

• b)Enable Wifi Connection on,Enter http://go.gateway-3ds.com on the 3DS Internet Brower, then confirm to access the GW Main Menu. When the top screen show the Gateway picture,Press The L button then the Gateway menu will show up.(If you don't press the L button, it will active the GW mode directly.)

• C)Back up the System Nand. Click BACKUP SYSTEM NAND, hold the power button till your 3DS is shutdown after the backup is finished. Copy the NAND.BIN generated in SD Card to your compater(if you find some other important files, drag all of them into computer as well). This file is very imprtant, it's your only hope for restore 3DS System, rememer to keep it save.

• d)Insert the SD Card back and enter the GW Mode again. Choose FORMAT EMUNAND to activate Emunand.(Notice that crack 3DS by Gateway blue card is the same as by the web Broswer, even use gateay 3ds blue card to enter into GW Mode, you still need to do the FORMAT EMUNAND to have Emunand supported). After finishing the process, force your 3DS a shutdown because of the worry that if it is entering in Red Shoes Mode this momemt, the 3DS may can't recognize previous contents. Connect the SD Card comes with 3DS to Computer to copy back the files if there is.If your Native 3DS system is higher that V8.1, then the Emunand will be GW 3DS V8.1.0 or higher. So you have no need to update it for now.But if your 3DS with firmware lower than V8.1, you should do the updating on Emuand. Because many games need 8.1+ system.

• e) If you don't want to connect the WIFI to enable GW mode, you can downgrade your 3DS then you can use the blue card to active the GW mode.

 

2.does it safe to upgrade the EmuNand ?

Of course Yes ! You must be very very carefully,Every time you exit the settings of the 3ds system, the GW mode is disappeared,you have run the real 3DS system, so you can't upgrade.
So when you active the GW mode. click the system settings you should see the GW version on top screen.

The version must be GW3D *.*.*-***, then don't exit the settings, do the upgrade system directly. If you exit, you must active the GW mode again. You will notice that every time you enter the system settings and exit the GW mode will disappear,so you must active it again.

 

3. How to avoid data losting when you downgrade the 3DS system ?

Please remember this sequence: Let's suppose your 3DS system is 8.0. Before you active your GW mode (hack your 3DS),

a) Backup your 3DS system (in the GW menu)
b)backup your SD card data. Copy all the files on the SD Card to your PC or micro disk.
something shoule like below:

c) upgrade emunand 3DS to 8.0
d) downgrade your 3DS
This will protect your the same data as your system before.

4.What's the CIA,3DZ,3DS,DLC file ? any relationship ?

CIA: xxx.cia this need the Gateway firmware 2.2+, it's the eshop games,you can use the cia file like you download game from the eshop.You need extra Devmenu.3ds or BigBluemenu.3ds (you can download from gateway-3ds.com)
3DZ: xxx.3dz is the 3ds game rom add a retail game rom title. so you can use it "like a retail game card", If you can't use the online play function, you can try to find a 3dz type game rom)
3DS: xxx.3ds it's the normal 3DS game rom form the Internet. The most easy to find.

 

5.Can't use the function of online play how to solve ?

You must download the 3dz type rom or make cia file by yourself. Search tutorial on Google.

 

6.What's the region lock, doest it important to Gateway 3DS ?

Nintenod has region lock, if your console is US region, you can't play Japan region games. becuase the Gateway 3DS suppot all regions and support region free fucntion. So you can play any region games now. Gateway 3DS has breaked the limit.

 

7.What's the different from SD card and micro sd card ?

SD card mean the card comming with the 3DS. You can find on the side of your 3DS. The SD card is in your 3DS console.You can change other big storage sd card,the SD card hold the 3DS system data,file,game save data and gateway 3DS files.. The micro sd card is for the Gateway 3DS,you need it to hold 3DS roms.

8.When into the GW mode how to play games ?

When you active the GW mode. Press the select button. Then a menu will shown.
Then choose the game you want to play.

 

9. how to load the Gateway MENU ?

If you want to run into the GW mode again, you must "break" it again.
4.1~4.5 users: use the blue card to hack. Profile->DS Profile
4.6 ~9.2 users: visit go.gateway-3ds.com
When the GW picture is out,Press the L button untill the menu is shown.

 

10.Can open the Game,but can't save game data, what's the problem ?

It's the problme of the SD Card,check if it readonly or change other SD Card.

   

11.Can I play retail game card on EmuNand or GW mode system ?

Yes. You can even play cross-region games. It's like the real system, support all the functions.

 

12. Some games has black screen, like the MH4 how to solve ?

this is the old GW firmware bugs on 2.1~2.4. Use the latest firmware.

 

13. When I first play the Pokemon X&Y, report save data error ?

When the error shown, press ↑+B+X  and press two time Yes

 

14.Why can't connect two consoles face to face ?

The 3DS system must be 6.1+. So upgrade your Emunand to 6.1+

 

15. It's worth to trim the rom ?

yes. it will save a lots of storage.

   

16.Fragmentation error, Blue card can't check the TF card or no card

keep the micro sd card is original then use the SDFormatter to format it to FAT32 again.

 

17. how to run big size games. more than 4GB ?

You must format your the micro sd card to exFAT type.
